Gallo Center for the Arts
The Gallo Center for the Arts is a performing arts center located on 1000 I Street in downtown Modesto, California. Opened in September 2007, the Arts Center hosts different Resident Companies, like the Modesto Symphony Orchestra, Central West Ballet, Townsend Opera Players and the Modesto Community Concerts Association. The list of stars that have performed at the Center began on its opening day on September 27, 2007 with Patti LuPone being the first star to perform on the larger Mary Stuart Rogers Theater. (The Gallo Center features 2 theaters, the 1200 seat Rogers Theater and the smaller 400 seat Foster Family Theater)Since 2007, the Center has been visited by all kinds of starts, from Bill Cosby and Tony Bennett to Dana Carvey and George Lopez. Touring Broadway shows have also performed at the Center, from classics like "Evita" and "Cats" to newer Broadway shows like "Shrek: The Musical".
