Francesca Thompson (born 29 April 1932) is an American Roman Catholic nun of the Order of Saint Francis/Sisters of Saint Francis (Oldenburg, Indiana).[1][2]

Early life

Her parents Evelyn Preer and Edward Thompson were silent film actors and vaudevillians in the 1910s and 1920s.[3]

Career

From 1982, Thompson was an associate professor of African and African American studies and assistant dean/director for multicultural programs at Fordham University, where she was honored with an honorary doctorate degree in fine arts in 2002.[4][5] She has also served as a member of the Tony Awards nominating committee.[6]
