Career

In her practice, Sajovic focuses on socially engaged art, in particular working with marginalised people or those affected by processes of change.[3] Sajovic works in collaboration with the subject, revealing personality through images and words as a counter to negative social stereotypes. Through setting up of situations she aims to provoke discussion on issues beneath the surface of society, before relinquishing control of the process for the participation of others to complete the work.[4] Sajovic collaborates with artist Corinne Silva under the name Silva+Sajovic.

Sajovic has been commissioned by Tate Britain and Tate Modern, Whitechapel Gallery, The National Archives, Ffotogallery, Cuming museum, 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning, 47/04 (QuarantaSetteZeroQuattro), Photography Archive Research Centre, London College of Communication, Siobhan Davies Dance and has been supported by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, the Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council England, the European Commission, Ministry of Culture Slovenia.
