Emma Husar is an Australian politician. She has been the Australian Labor Party member for the Australian House of Representatives seat of Lindsay since the 2016 federal election. Her success in defeating one-term Liberal Fiona Scott ended Lindsay's "bellwether" streak.[2]
Husar was born at Nepean Hospital, and lived at South Penrith since age 20. She is a single mother with three children aged 8 to 14.[1] She ran as the ALP candidate for the seat of Penrith at the 2015 New South Wales election but was unsuccessful. She however did reduce sitting Liberal member Stuart Ayres' 16.3% hold on the seat to near marginal territory of 6.2%.
On 23 November 2016, in her second speech to Parliament, Husar revealed her family history of domestic violence.[3]
