El Pez

Joaquín Fernández known as El Pez (The Fish), is a Chilean reggaetón singer, composer and producer.

Biography

Infancy

Joaquín Fernández, was born to a traditional family in Santiago, Chile on April 13, 1990.

He began to show interest in the artistic world as a child, acting for example in the film Machuca when he was only 13 years old. In addition, he participating in other Chilean television series.

Coming of age, when he had to decide what to study, Joaquín had to choose between studying commercial engineering or enrolling in a new program that was being offered for the first time at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, College UC. Finally he decided on the second option, which led him to a bachelor's in the area of social sciences.

Career

At the College of Social Sciences he took classes on journalism, audiovisual direction, and innovation, areas that most caught his attention. In 2011 he premièred CH with I: When the street dressed of chants, a documentary that compiled the celebrations of elated Chileans after they arrived to the world-wide football championship in South Africa in 2010. Then he formed DelPez Productions, a company that in addition to making videos would later also become an event producer, in charge of initiatives like Ironman of Calafquén.

After completing his degree in social sciences, The Fish decided get into journalism, at the same university. In the meantime, he spent his free time doing videos and documentaries, such as Surviving in Peru. While he finalised the bouquets that the university demanded, he held an internship at Radio Bío-Bío. Later he worked for a communications agency for nine months.

At present The Fish has thousands of followers on social networks and is working in the internationalisation of his career.
