Dynamix II is a Miami-based electro-bass group. They had one UK No. 50 hit, "Just Give The DJ A Break", in 1987.
History
The band was founded in 1985 by DJ-turned-musician David Noller and Scott Weiser in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where they built their own studio.[1] They released "Just Give the DJ a Break"/"Straight from the Jungle" on the Miami-based Bass Station Records in 1987. The single reached number 50 in the UK Singles Chart, and was described by producer Danny Daze in 2015 as "one of the most critical bass music records of all time".[2][3]
In 1988 the group set up their own 'Dynamix II' record label, on which most of their subsequent releases up to the mid-1990s were released.[1]
In 1998 the group gained exposure when Richard James' (Aphex Twin) Rephlex label reissued the Electro Megamix: 1985-Present collection.[1][4]
