Diogo Gonçalves de Travassos (1390s-1449) was a Portuguese nobleman, escrivão da puridade (King's private secretary) of Peter, Duke of Coimbra.[1]
Biography
Diogo was the son of Martim Gonçalves de Travassos and Catarina Dias de Melo.[2] His wife was Violante Velho Cabral, sister of Gonçalo Velho Cabral, and descendant of Pedro Soares Velho.[3]
Diogo Gonçalves de Travassos participated actively in the conquest of Ceuta.[4] He died in 1449, and was buried in Batalha Monastery, the chapel door of kings.[5]
