Die Wahre Religion
Die Wahre Religion ("The True Religion", DWR) is an extreme Islamist Salafi organisation in Germany that was founded in 2005.[1][2] The organisation was founded by Ibrahim Abou Nagie, and is thought to have around 500 active members.[2]
DWR was banned by German authorities in November 2016, after it was suspected of having recruited at least 140 fighters for the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.[1][2] German police followed up with raids against 190 mosques, apartments and offices in ten cities thought to be linked to the organisation.[1][2][3]
