Dallastown Area Middle School is a suburban public school providing 7th and 8th grade school in the Dallastown Area School District in York County, Pennsylvania. The school is located at 700 New School Lane, Dallastown.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, in 2011, the School reported an enrollment of 921 pupils, with 192 pupils receiving a federal free or reduced price lunch due to family poverty. The school is a federal designated Title I school. The school employed 71 teachers yielding a student teacher ratio of 13:1.[4] According to a report by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, 10 teachers were rated "Non‐Highly Qualified" under No Child Left Behind, due to having emergency certification.[5]
In 2010, Dallastown Area Middle School reported an enrollment of 1,380 pupils in grades 6th through 8th, with pupils receiving a federal free or reduced price lunch due to family poverty. The school employed 103 teachers yielding a student teacher ratio of 13:1.[6] According to a report by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, 6 teachers were rated "Non‐Highly Qualified" under No Child Left Behind, while 10 teachers had emergency certification.[7] Each grade is split into teams and students stay "on-team" unless to go to another class.
In 2012, the Dallastown Area Middle School attendance rate was 95%. In 2009 through 2011, the School reported a 93% attendance rate each school year.[8][9]
Academics
In 2012, Dallastown Area Middle School declined to Warning AYP status due to lagging student achievement in mathematics in most subgroups.[10] In 2011 and 2010 the school achieved AYP status under No Child Left Behind.[11]

World languages curriculum
Dallastown Area Middle School offers students classes in beginning: French, German, Latin and Spanish.
Alternative school
Dallastown Area Middle School Alternative Education Program provides a free public education to children who are not functioning well in the traditional system. Counseling is routinely provided. The goal is to return the student to the traditional school setting.
Cyber Academy
Dallastown Area Cyber Academy provides an at home education environment which is operated by the Dallastown Area School District. Students receive a computer, internet access reimbursement, curriculum and textbooks, technology support by the Dallastown Area School District's Instructional Technology department. Students progress at their own rate with individualized counseling, assistance, and support by Dallastown Area School District faculty.
Extracurriculars
Dallastown Area Middle School provides a variety of clubs outside of the classroom including the following: Red Cross club, a chapter of the National Junior Honor Society, a school newspaper, student council, community clubs, homework clubs, a drama club, a musical, many music and art programs, and dozens of sports for both male and female students. Dallastown Middle School also has Student Council which has kids from seventh to eighth grade.
The school has a program called HOUSE. It is a class where students are put together to do activities together.
