Dündar Bey

Dündar Bey (around 1210 or 1211–1298) was the youngest son of Suleyman Shah, younger brother of Ertuğrul and the paternal uncle of Osman I.

He was the youngest son of Suleyman Shah and Hayme Hatun. When his brother, Ertuğrul died in 1281, the next leader of the Kayı tribe became Ertugrul's son Osman Bey, later known as the founder of Ottoman Empire. When Osman decided to attack a small Greek island, Dundar rebelled because he thought it would destroy the tribe. However, Osman pulled out his sword and killed the old Dundar. The result of this murder was most likely that the Osman expected loyalty and obedience from his uncle.
