The Cross of Recognition (Latvian: Atzinības krusts) is a state decoration of Latvia, founded in 1938, but tracing its historical origins to 1710.[2] It is awarded to Latvians and foreigners for meritorious services in the development of the military, ensuring national security and public order, defending the national borders, and promotion of Latvian patriotism.[3]
