Chyhyryn Raion (Ukrainian: Чигири́нський райо́н) is a raion (district) of Cherkasy Oblast, central Ukraine. Its administrative centre is located at Chyhyryn.
During the Ukrainian War of Independence the region was proclaimed the "Kholodny Republic" (led by local Vasyl Chuchupak[1]) which strived for Ukrainian independence from the Soviet Union.[1][2] The Kholodny Republic lasted from 1919 to 1922.[2]
