Chechat
Chechat is a 700-year-old town situated near Takali river. Chechat represents a conglomerate of more than 36 villages surrounding it and these villages are integrated by the economy of Chechat town. According to records, chechat was destroyed 3 times from 1300 to 1900. According to census 2011, Chechat has a population of 11,690 and literacy rate of 68%. Males constitute 53% and females 47% of total population.
There are many stone mines located near Chechat. Stone extracted in these mines is known as 'Kota Stone' and is very famous for its quality.
Geography and climate
Chechat is located at 24.77°N 75.88°E. It has an average elevation of 333 metres (1092 feet). Climate is very hot in summer with temperatures reaching 47 °C while in winters it can as low as 7 °C. Chechat receives a good amount of rainfall and soil is therefore good for crop cultivation.
Transport
Chechat is well connected to Ramganjmandi by State Highway 9. It is also connected to Rawatbhata by road. Nearest railway station is morak at a distance of 10 km. It is 70 km away from Kota. Few direct buses are available for kota from chechat.
Education
Chechat has many primary and middle schools. It has also separate higher education schools for boys and girls. Chechat also has a Sanskrit college. Literacy rate in Chechat is higher than national average.
Health
Chechat has only a government hospital. For better medical facilities people can go to nearest city like kota, jhalawar.
Places to visit
Chechat has many temples to visit. Swami ji mandir is famous for all its festivals but most important is pat utsav and pongal utsav which runs up to 1 month in which people came from very distant cities to enjoy it.
Gopal mandir is also one of the famous temples of chechat. This temple is 400 years old.
Monastery(Math) is one of the oldest and famous temple of lord shiva. And there are so many small temple like Govardhan temple, kala temple, Patti khera Hanumanji and so on.There's also a Seven "SATI" Chabutara Near Ramanbihari math That Has a Rich Historical Aspects.
At the point of food chechat is very rich, means you can enjoy different types of foods varieties. You can enjoy most popular dishes like kachori and smosa of narayan ustaj and famous namkin of Roopchand Halwayi.
Chechat also has good cloth market. Woman can go to Deepika saree center for saree shopping located in Bari ka chowk mohalla.
