Charles Symons
The Very. Rev Charles Douglas Symons , CB, MC, DD, MA was an eminent[1] Anglican priest in the 20th century.[2]
He was born on 13 October 1885[3] and was educated at Kelly College, Tavistock and Trinity College, Cambridge.He was ordained in 1908[4] and served with the Royal Army Chaplains Department from 1916 to 1944, the last five as Chaplain-General to the Forces.
An Honorary Chaplain to the King[5] and a Chaplain of the Order of St John of Jerusalem,[6] he died on 15 October 1949.[7]
