The Canada men's national team are the current world champions. They defeated New Zealand 10-5 in gold medal game thanks in part to Stephen Mullaley who hit 3 home runs, knocking in 7 RBI to put Canada on top of the softball world. After trailing 5-0 early, they rallied back in front of a home crowd to take the gold medal. Mullaley's single game performance is considered one of the best ever in the gold medal game at the world championships. The Canada men's national softball team participated in the 1988 World Championships held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The team played 13 games in the round robin round. Canada beat Australia 7-4 in one game in this round.^[1][2] The team competed at the 1992 ISF Men's World Championship in Manila, Philippines where they finished with 11 wins and 1 loss.^[3] The team competed at the 1996 ISF Men's World Championship in Midland, Michigan where they finished with 13 wins and 2 losses.^[4] The team competed at the 2000 ISF Men's World Championship in East London, South Africa where they finished fourth.^[5] The team competed at the 2004 ISF Men's World Championship in Christchurch, New Zealand where they finished second.^[6][7] The team competed at the 2009 ISF Men's World Championship in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where they finished third.^[8][9]
