Cédric Wermuth (born 19 February 1986, Jegenstorf, Switzerland) is a Swiss politician. From 2008 to 2011, he was President of the Young Socialists. Currently he is serving as Vice President of the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland. He was elected to the National Council of Switzerland as a representative of the canton of Aargau in 2011. He lives in Baden.
Political career
Since 1999 he is a member of the Young Socialists. After serving in that party as Secretary General, he was elected as President in 2008 [1] and Vice President of the Social Democratic Party. After a failed candidature on cantonal level, he was endowed with a mandate from the Baden.
Wermuth resigned as President of the Young Socialists in March 2011. On 23 October 2011, he was elected to the National Council of Switzerland. He marks the left wing of the Social Democratic Party.
