The Bulgari Hotel and Residences is a luxury hotel in Knightsbridge, London.

Location

The hotel is located in Knightsbridge, near The Knightsbridge Apartments, One Hyde Park and 10 Lancelot Place.[1] It is close to Harrods and Hyde Park.[2]

History

The hotel was built by Sir Robert McAlpine from 2010 to 2012,[3] where once stood the Normandie Hotel.[4] It was dedicated in May 2012.[1][5] It was designed by Antonio Citterio, Patricia Viel & Partners.[1] It was built with Portland stones.[1] There are ten floors up and six underground floors.[6]

There are 85 rooms and suites.[1][2] All the rooms are designed in the same manner.[7] The main thematic design is silver.[5] The hotel is also home to a cigar shop, a cinema, a spa, an indoor swimming-pool, a ballroom, and the Rivea restaurant.[6] The ballroom, which has a silver chandelier, can be rented for wedding receptions.[8] It is "eco-friendly"; for example, the rainwater is recycled for the toilets.[9] There is also a garden on the roof, or "green roof",[5] with bat boxes.[9]

In 2012, it was the most expensive hotel to stay in London, before The Ritz Hotel and the Savoy Hotel.[6] In 2013, it signed a two-year contract with the Royal Albert Hall to be referred to visitors as its preferred luxury hotel.[10]

It is owned by LVMH.[4]
