Buddleja 'Winter Waterfall' is a hybrid cultivar derived from the hybrid Buddleja asiatica × Buddleja crispa backcrossed with B. asiatica, obtained at the University of Arkansas, USA, in 2002. [1]

Description

'Winter Waterfall' is a lax shrub growing to a height of about 3 m. The dark-green leaves are elliptic to oblong-lanceolate, typically 12 cm long by 3 cm wide, glabrous above, tomentose beneath. The inflorescences comprise pendulous panicles, 8.5 cm long, of very fragrant white flowers, which appear in November and December. [1]

Cultivation

'Winter Waterfall' is tender, and primarily intended for conservatory cultivation. Pruning should be undertaken immediately after flowering. Only released to commerce in 2010, the shrub remains rare in cultivation, and not known (2016) beyond the USA. Hardiness: USDA zone 8.
