Buddleja × weyeriana 'Moonlight' was one of the two original weyeriana cultivars (the other 'Golden Glow') raised by Major van de Weyer at his Corfe Castle home during the First World War.[1][2] The cultivar has acquired several synonyms in the British horticultural trade: 'Beech Park', 'Hocus Pocus', and 'Liberty'.

Description

'Moonlight' is a shrub with a lax, open habit, growing to a height of 2 m if hard-pruned annually, bearing small panicles comprising globose heads of pale yellow flowers flushed lilac to pink, with orange throats. The leaves are of average size and mid-green in colour.[3][4] Ploidy: 2n = 76. [5]

Cultivation

'Moonlight' has been widely cultivated in the UK. Hardiness: United States Department of Agriculture zones 8–10. [4]
