Brandon Ray Thomas (born 19 February 1995) is an American hip hop artist and music producer. He was born in Georgia and grew up in Atlanta. He is commended for his versatile work approach with various legendary stars such as Kanye West, Madonna, Jaden Smith, Trinidad James & more. He is well known for OG Maco’s hit song U Guessed It,[1][2][3] which peaked at number 90 on the Hot 100.[4]

Life & Education

Thomas was born in Marrietta, Georgia and grew up in South Atlanta. Most of his family is from New York, which is where he was influenced into music. His father, Dr. John Thomas AKA Dr. Jobasto is a music producer, voice-over artist and doctor of Chiropractic. Brandon moved to Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Georgia to pursue music at Art Institute of Atlanta but dropped out a month later to continue his career full-time. The reason for moving to North Atlanta stemmed from the combination of his parents divorce and their son being attacked by county police in his high school town of Fayetteville, GA. This incident forced Brandon to go to military school in Augusta, Georgia around where the late James Brown was from. This is where he learned the discipline and organization that helped musically jumpstart his wave. He began to study many films and paintings. His uncle, Enrico Miguel Thomas, who was signed to Sharpie at the time, would mail him sketches from Paris. This inspired Brandon's internation hunt for art and culture. Around the time of Brandon's release from military school he built a full studio facility in Buckhead, Atlanta, before moving back down to College Park, Georgia later that year to create one of the arguably biggest Atlanta projects of the decade, Give Em Hell. Brandon produced & engineered the EP for OG Maco & Key! along with Grammy nominated Sonny Digital, Awful Records Dexter, and OGG. This project changed the musical landscape of the entire music industry via Atlanta. U Guessed it also had a tremendous global imprint nation by impacting the youth and many people overseas. It inspired a Japanese wave of trap music also, by artist like Keith Ape and more. This record became huge from fans and critics posting remixes, and over 70 million vine loops in a couple months. It picked up a large amount of industry cosigns from major celebrities like J. Cole, Chris Brown, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Lupe Fiasco, and many more. Heavily remixed in the EDM community, this song began making waves overseas, jumpstarting a new style of hip-hop and trap music. Brandon is said to be heavily inspired by early 80's funk, french house music, and old-school rnb textures, in which he sonically bridges along vintage hip-hop style percussion. He began writing a book and crafting a rock album early 2016, in which he expects to release on his next world tour. Thomas is also known for pioneering a sound called Trap-Rock with a trap streetwear designer named Zeus Trappin, around early days of OGG movement and success of OG Maco. The amount of time Thomas spends sonic painting is due to his passion for vintage art history pieces and paintings. It is said he always dreamed of being an architect, lawyer, or pro skateboarder. Before music, he was painting and drawing full time, working out of his father's practice, and his mothers tax office. He thanks seeing a lot or entrepreneurialism at a early age for being so goal driven nowadays. He plans on opening a non profit to teaching local Atlanta youth music production and songwriting skills. He has been working on various technology apps and music equipment lately, as he recently traveled to Japan to work with ex-military scientist Jay Izaak, with whom he produced a lot of his early records along with Deko when he first moved to Buckhead, Georgia. His new solo rock project is being worked on overseas as well. It's a new genre he pioneered called Urban Folk music while traveling back and forth from Brooklyn and San Francisco this past year.

Career

Thomas has produced several musics including U Guessed It by OG Maco which peaked at number 90 in the United States.[5] He also linked up with OG Maco for the song entitled ‘Armageddon’, The track is off Thomas’ new Good Things Take Time EP, which also enlists other rappers such as ManManSavage, Key!, and Tezo for heaters.[6] He is also the producer of pistol.[7]
