"Borrowed Time" is a single release from Styx's 1979 triple-platinum album Cornerstone. The song was a collaboration, with lyrics by Dennis DeYoung and music by Tommy Shaw and is sung by DeYoung. It features a fast, hard-driving rhythm, and the memorable ending refrain, "Faith be with me now / I'm just a dreamer in a dreamland".

The band opened their concerts with this song, on their 1979-1980 "Grand Decathlon Tour" in support of Cornerstone. Next, it would serve as the first encore on the band's 1981-1982 Paradise Theatre tour.

"Borrowed Time" was the third single released of Cornerstone and was a chart disappointment, peaking at No. 64 on the U.S. pop chart in the April 1980. It also peaked at No. 76 on the Canada RPM Top 100 Singles chart the week of May 3, 1980.
