Blood Oath (2007 film)

Blood Oath is a 2007 American slasher film written by David Meier Smith and directed by David Muchert. The film stars Natalie Hart, Roger Horn, Jamie Reynolds, Katie Vaughan, Patrick Holt, Tiffany Shepis, and Tina Krause. Blood Oath follows the story of a group of friends on a weekend camping trip who decide to investigate a local urban legend. The trip will change their lives as they are forced into a fight for survival against a horrific monster.^[1]

Plot

In the opening scene, Brenda tells the urban legend of "Faceless" to her friends around a campfire. The story goes that Faceless was once a man named James whose face was badly burned in an accident with acid. His wife Miriam convinced a nun to bless James. However, she instead cursed him, and as a result his face disappeared entirely. James then slaughtered the entire covenant. Miriam fled into the woods and neither her nor Faceless was ever seen again. Brenda's friends don't believe her, but Faceless appears and impales Laci and Jeff while they are having sex, stabs Lou in the head with a skewer, crushes Lila's head, and disembowels Joey. Brenda flees into the woods before the title card appears.

Six years later, another group of twelve friends enter the woods to investigate the legend of Faceless. After the group goes to sleep, Brent leaves his tent to urinate and is decapitated by Faceless. The next morning, the others come across a house while looking for Brent and believe it is Faceless's house. Meanwhile, Maya and Floyd sneak off and have sex in a lake, and Faceless kills Maya with an arrow, but Floyd escapes. Corey, Jed and River become trapped in the house's basement and attempt to escape through a crawlspace, where Faceless grabs Jed and drags him off. Corey and River climb out of a hatch above the ground and meet up with Liz and Luna. Meanwhile, Lani, Austin, Rhea, and Vince break into the basement and find Jed's mangled corpse.

Liz, Luna, Corey and River meet up with the others and learn of Jed's death. The group flees back to camp, but Liz panics when she realizes that Floyd and Maya are missing and decides to ditch the group. She runs to the groups van and tries to drive away, but Faceless appears in the backseat and slits her throat. The others flee back into the woods and encounter the still living Floyd. They then run into a large mass of fog. The group decides that they have no way to go but through the fog, but Vince refuses. Faceless appears and dismembers Vince, and the others flee into the fog.

The group exit out the other side of the fog and realize that the forest is much greener than before. Floyd spots what appears to be Maya, but she is revealed to have no face and rips off Floyd's head. They then see Faceless's house before it fell into disarray, and are forced to hide inside. Lani, Austin, Rhea and Luna hide in the basement when Faceless enters, while Corey and River refuse to go back in the basement and hide in a bathroom. They find Miriam tied up in the basement and free her, but she is revealed to be faceless and kills Austin.

Meanwhile, Faceless discovers Corey and River in the bathroom, and they escape out a window. Corey and River hide when they hear Faceless coming, but Corey accidentally makes a noise and Faceless slits his throat before violently stabbing River to death. Lani, Rhea and Luna escape the house and into the woods, where they encounter more fog. When they come out the other side, they encounter Brenda fleeing through the woods. The four girls try to escape the forest, but Brenda, revealed as Faceless's daughter, kills Rhea; Lani then kills Brenda.

Lani and Luna encounter Faceless and Miriam and are able to kill both. However, they then encounter a faceless Austin, who stabs Lani before Luna kills him. Lani dies in Luna's arms. Luna, now all alone, makes it back to the present day. She encounters another five teens on a road who are also driving into the woods to investigate the legend, and Luna convinces them to drive back to town. However, after they run over a spike strip, Faceless appears. He kills Aiden and Jack when they get out of the car and breaks one of the windows to kill Lyndsey and Riley. However, Luna manages to get Clay's gun after he is killed and shoots Faceless dead. Luna then continues walking down the road, the only survivor out of over 20 victims.
