It uses the instrumental from the song "Black Beatles", performed by Rae Sremmurd and Gucci Mane. The unmastered version of the song was initially released to SoundCloud on November 15, 2016. "Black Barbies" was later released officially on November 30, 2016.[1][2][3][4]
Rolling Stone's editor Rob Sheffield ranked the single 49 on his list of the 50 best songs of the year.[5]
