Bill Istvan Günther Skarsgård (born 9 August 1990) is a Swedish actor, known for his roles in Simple Simon, Allegiant, and Hemlock Grove.
Early life
Skarsgård was born on 9 August 1990 in Vällingby, Sweden as the son of actor Stellan Skarsgård and his first wife, My Skarsgård.[1][2][3] Bill Skarsgård has seven siblings: Alexander, Gustaf, Sam, Valter, Ossian, Kolbjörn, and Eija. Four of these, Alexander, Gustaf, Sam, and Valter, are actors. Ossian and Kolbjörn are half-brothers from a later marriage between Stellan Skarsgård and Megan Everett.[4][5]
Career
In 2011, Skarsgård was nominated for a Guldbagge Award for his leading role as Simon in Simple Simon.
In April 2014, Skarsgård featured on the cover of Hero – a bi-annual men's fashion and culture magazine, shot by Hedi Slimane. In the issue, he is interviewed by his father.[6]
Skarsgård played Matthew in the science fiction thriller The Divergent Series: Allegiant (2016), his first major American film.
In June 2016, Skarsgård was cast as popular horror villain Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the upcoming 2017 film It after another actor, Will Poulter, dropped out due to other projects.[7]
