Bhoom is a town with a municipal council in Osmanabad district, Maharashtra, India, and it is the headquarters of Bhoom taluka.Bhoom municipal corporation is established in 1946.Bhoom is a small town situated in a valley of the Banashankar hill ranges of Sahyadri. It is situated on the banks of the River Banaganga, which eventually flows into the Bhima. The majority of its people are engaged in agriculture or related activities. Milk is a substantial side business for its farmers and non-farmers. Bhoom is also headquarters of a sub-division of Osmanabad district, and as a result houses a large number of government employees. Bhoom was a saunsthan(princely state)during the British raj & was ruled by Thorat Royal Family.
Demographics
In the 2001 Indian census, Bhum Tahsil had a population of 116,894, with 60,620 (51.9%) males and 56,274 (48.1%) females, for a gender ratio of 928 females per thousand males.[2]
In the 2011 census, Bhum Tahsil had 137,217 inhabitants[3] and a gender ratio of 905 females per thousand males.[4] The tahsil was 86.4% rural.[3] The literacy rate in 2011 was 73.08% overall in Bhum Tahsil, with a rate of 82.86% for males and 62.45% for females.[5] In 2011 in Bhum Tahsil, 11.5% of the population was 0 to 6 years of age.[3]
Neighbourhoods
Bhoom is divided into two areas, Kasba and Peth by the Banganga river. Kasba is the more traditional village type area with most of the people involved in farming. Peth is more cosmopolitan where people of various professions live together. At the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st, Bhoom added more white collar jobs due to the Educated People and new colonies near the college. Banganga and Ramganga dams provide water for drinking.

Monuments and attractions
- In the village of Kunthalgiri, near to the town of Bhoom, there is an ancient Jain temple.[6] Kunthalgiri is also famous for "pedha", a sweet.
- In the Bhoom, there is an ancient temple called "Alam-prabhu".It is the Patron Deity of the Bhoom. "Alam-prabhu" as its name indicates is the symbol of unity between Hindu and Muslim. In the month of December there is a huge fair in the name of lord "Datta" is held, which lasts for 4–5 days.
- In the village of Hadongri, 5 km away from Bhoom there is a famous temple called 'Shivkada' of saint 'Manmath swami' situated at very beautiful wildlike place. In the month of 'Shrawan' there's a huge fair on every Monday.

Economy
