Baudouin Prot is Chairman of BNP Paribas' Board of Directors.

Education & career

Prot was born 24 May 1951. He graduated from HEC Paris and from the École nationale d'administration.[1] From 1974 to 1983 he was successively the Deputy Prefect of the Franche-Comté region of France, French General Inspector of Finance, and the Deputy Director of Energy and Raw Materials of the Ministry of Industry. He then joined the Banque nationale de Paris in 1983. After BNP merged with Paribas in 2000, he was appointed CEO in 2003.[2]

In April 2010 Prot became an Officer of the Légion d'honneur.[3]

Awards

In 2006 Prot was awarded ‘Financier of the Year’, primarily in acknowledgement of the successful acquisition of Italian bank Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, which was executed in a record time. In 2007 Prot also picked up the ‘Social and Corporate Responsibility’ award by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA).[4]
