The Bakrie Group is an Indonesian conglomerate founded by Achmad Bakrie in 1942. It has diversified interests across various industries including mining, oil and gas, property development, infrastructure, plantations, media and telecommunications. The group is one of the largest business groups in Indonesia, with 10 companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

It is headed by Nirwan D. Bakrie (Chairman) and Indra U. Bakrie (Co-Chairman).

Aburizal Bakrie, (eldest brother), retired from business in 2004 to pursue political career, and was appointed Coordinating Minister for the Economy. In 2009 he resigned from Government and elected Chairman of the Golkar (Political) Party, Indonesian's 2nd largest party.

Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk

Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk (BSP) is a subsidiary of Bakrie Group. The company has under its management around 100,000 ha of oil palm and rubber plantations.[5] BSP has extensive landbanks. [6] One of its directors is Bungaran Saragih, a former minister of agriculture. [7] It operates or used to operate on peatlands.[8]
