Anupama Raag

Anupama Raag is a bollywood music director and singer, born in Lucknow and educated at Bhatkhande Music Institute. She has been recently awarded the Yash Bharati Award by Uttar Peadesh government. Annupama Raag has been trained in classical music from Ustad Gulshan Bharti of Lucknow gharana, and from Yogendra Bhat of Gwalior gharana, under the traditional guru-shishya parampara. Apart from making numerous public performances, Raag has been a regular singing talent at both Doordarshan and Aakashwani, and has sung for five consecutive years at Lucknow Mahotsav. Raag has also performed at other events such as: Taj Mahotsav – Agra, Tansen Samaroh, Sangeet Natak Academy, and Awadh Sandhya.

She made her Bollywood debut with the number “Shalu ke thumke” in 2011 for movie Bin Bulaye Barati composed by Anand Raj featuring Mallika Sherawat. In the same year she also rendered her voice to “Nazar Se Nazar Mile” to duet with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Composed by Sajid Wajid written by Jawed akhtar featured on Kangana Ranawat, movie Mile Na Mile Ham. She has sung with Mika for the movie Zila Ghaziabad and with Madhuri Dixit for the movie Gulab Gang.

She has produced numerous music tracks and albums for both films and private albums. Anupama Raag is currently composing for Salman Khan production, Yash Raj Films among many other assignments. One her latest songs shall be soon heard in Sudhir Mishra’s next – Aur Devdas. She has also been highly applauded for her non-film musical works such as – Lucknow Development Authority Theme (Written, Sung and Composed by her) and Uttar Pradesh Pride Song for Uttar Pradesh Government (Written, Sung and Composed by her). The Indian Gramin Cricket League jingle that is composed by her and sung by Sharib Toshi received great praise from CM Akhilesh Yadav. She has also composed jingles for TV Commercials for various brands.

She has been working on her next album for the past few months and now it is ready to be taken into production. The album consists of 5 melodious tracks. These songs shall be written and composed by Anupama Raag herself. The songs shall be sung by the legendary Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and ever popular Mika Singh. Both the stalwarts have already expressed his keen interest in the project and has assured all their support to the same. Among the songs sung by them we shall also be translating 2 of the songs into music videos. These music videos shall be starring Mika Singh. These music videos shall be promoted in India and to Indian diaspora internationally by either Sony Music or T-Series. Both these giant labels have shown interest in the project.[1][2][3][4][5]
