Annabelle 2 is an upcoming 2017 American supernatural horror film directed by David F. Sandberg, and written by Gary Dauberman. It is the sequel to the 2014 film Annabelle, the second entry in the Annabelle film series and the fourth installment overall in The Conjuring film series. The film stars Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Anthony LaPaglia, and Miranda Otto. It is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 19, 2017.
Plot
The story is focused on a dollmaker and his wife, whose daughter tragically died twenty years earlier, as they decide to open their home to a nun and several girls from an orphanage that has been closed. The dollmaker's possessed creation Annabelle sets her sights on the children and turns their shelter into a storm of horror.

Production
In October 2015, it was confirmed that an Annabelle sequel was in development.[1] David F. Sandberg replaced Leonetti as director in March 2016.[2] The first film's screenwriter, Gary Dauberman, returned to write the script, with Peter Safran and James Wan returning to produce.
Casting
In June 2016, Stephanie Sigman, Miranda Otto, and Talitha Bateman were cast to star in the film.[3][4] It was later revealed Lulu Wilson, Philippa Coulthard, Grace Fulton, Lou Lou Safran, Samara Lee, Anthony LaPaglia, and Tayler Buck joined the cast of the film, with Buck making her film debut.[5] It was also announced Lotta Losten, Sandberg's wife and frequent collaborator, would appear in the film.[6]
Music
Benjamin Wallfisch composed the films score.[7]
Filming
Principal photography began on June 27, 2016 in Los Angeles, California[8][9] and concluded on August 15, 2016.[10]
Release
A release date for the film was set for May 19, 2017 by Warner Bros. Pictures.[11]
