Aminul Islam is a Bangladeshi academic. He is the current president of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences.[1][2] He is a fellow of the academy since 1978.[3]
Education and career
Islam completed his master's from University of Dhaka in 1955 and Ph.D. from Michigan State University in 1962.[4] He started his teaching career at the University of Dhaka in 1956 and worked at the Department of Soil Science until 1996.[4] He then served as the vice-chancellor of Daffodil International University during 2002–2011 and Bangladesh National University (1996-2000).[4][5]
In May 2016, he started serving as a president of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences and Science Council of Asia.[6]
