Alseno is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Piacenza in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 120 kilometres (75 mi) northwest of Bologna and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of Piacenza. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,793 and an area of 55.5 square kilometres (21.4 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Alseno contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Castelnuovo Fogliani, Chiaravalle della Colomba, Cortina, and Lusurasco.
Alseno borders the following municipalities: Besenzone, Busseto, Castell'Arquato, Fidenza, Fiorenzuola d'Arda, Salsomaggiore Terme, Vernasca.
