AirPods
The AirPods are Bluetooth earbuds made by Apple Inc. that resemble previous earbuds made by the company, only without wires. They have new user interactions such as removing an AirPod from one's ear causes playback to pause, and tapping them activates the Siri software agent.[1] The AirPods can play audio from any device that supports Bluetooth, but work best with iOS 10.[2]
The AirPods were introduced on September 7, 2016, alongside the iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 2. Apple originally planned to release the AirPods starting late October,[3] but the company later announced that they had delayed the AirPods' release date.[4]
Criticism
One of the AirPods' criticisms is its high price. Other criticisms are the perceived ability to fall out of one's ear, however testing by Business Insider has shown that it is quite unlikely for this to happen during normal use.[5]
