Ahmad Wali Massoud heads Massoud Foundation in Afghanistan, an organization involved in social, cultural, educational and health activities across the country. As the younger brother of Ahmad Shah Massoud, the family has been in the heart of Afghan politics since the early 70s. Mr Massoud has held various political positions including, Afghan Ambassador to the UK, Special Representative of Ahmad Shah Massoud in Europe, and Jamiat–e-Islami Afghanistan party representative in London. He is the founder of the political party Nahzat-e-Mili Afghanistan and played a key role in both presidential elections 2004 and 2009. He is the founder of Mandager Daily, a popular newspaper in Afghanistan. He is also the founder of Yad–e-Yar (The Memory of Friends) a magazine covering the history of the past four decades of Afghanistan. Masoud's first book called "National Agenda" published in 2012, offers solutions for building sustainable peace and political reform in Afghanistan. He has successfully completed his academic studies in UK universities, attaining a postgraduate qualification in Diplomatic Studies from Westminster University, London in 1989.[1] He is the younger brother of Ahmad Shah Massoud.[2]
