Aechmea lingulata is a species in the genus Aechmea. This species is native to the West Indies (Bahamas, Trinidad, Puerto Rico, Lesser Antilles etc.), Costa Rica, Panama and northern South America.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]

Two varieties are recognized:[1]

  1. Aechmea lingulata var. lingulata - most of species range
  2. Aechmea lingulata var. patentissima (Mart. ex Schult. & Schult.f.) L.B.Sm. - eastern Brazil
