Adventure Quest (LARP)
Adventure Quest (abbreviated to AQ) is an active, live-action roleplaying game (or LARP) created by Renaissance Adventures in 1995.[1][2]
Adventure Quest is an experiential education tool whereby the children, teens, and families play the heroes of a mythic quest. Solving mental, physical, social, and ethical challenges, the game's storyline is modified by a "Quest Leader," who devises many of the challenges and plays the parts of non-player characters (NPCs). Written "Quests" are used as templates for the storyline, but as is the case with many RPGs, the storyline is modified by the Quest Leader based upon the decisions of the players (called "Questers"). The game is played with foam swords and props in an outdoor environment. The mechanics of the game stress teamwork, conflict resolution, and learning.[3]
