AYR (clothing label)
AYR is an e-commerce driven, vertically-integrated womenswear line headquartered in New York City. Launched in February 2014, it was co-founded by Maggie Winter, Jac Cameron, and CEO and Founder of Bonobos Inc., Andy Dunn. The name AYR is an acronym for “All Year Round.”[1] The line offers an edited collection of womenswear, with a focus on denim.[2] It emerged in a wave of post-recession brands rethinking the traditional brick and mortar retail model.[3] Like its brother company Bonobos, AYR launched exclusively online. In April, it launched its first Guideshop in its New York headquarters.[4] In September 2014, it expanded through a wholesale partnership with Shopbop.[5] AYR has gained recognition in the tech design space. In April 2014, AYR’s e-commerce site was named AWWWard’s “Site of the Day.”[6] In July 2014, their digital catalog was given the same award.[7]
