68 Ophiuchi is a star in the constellation Ophiuchus. Its apparent magnitude is 4.42.[2] Located around 89.69 parsecs (292.5 ly) distant,[1] it is a blue-white main-sequence star of spectral type A2Vn,[3] a star that is currently fusing its core hydrogen. The star is suspected of varying between magnitudes 4.42 and 4.48.[10]
It is a binary, with a companion, B, of magnitude 7.48, in an orbit with period 176 years and eccentricity 0.83.[11][12]
