The Copa Claro 2016 was the 4th staging of the Copa Presidente football tournament, the 4th staging in the professional era and the first was played since the 2006 edition.

This tournament started on 16 October, 2016 and concluded on 2016. In the final game, TBD won the Cup over the TBD, after a tie 2 - 2, and a penalty shootout with a score of 4 - 5.

This tournament will feature all the clubs from the Salvadoran Primera División, 10 from the Segunda División de El Salvador and 10 from the Tercera Division de Fútbol Salvadoreño .

Group stage

Every group is composed of three clubs, one from Primera Division, one from Segunda Division and one from the Tercera Division. In a traditional round robin game.

Each win gives a club 3 points, each draw gives 1 point.
