The 2011 Country Music Association Awards is a music award ceremony that was held on November 4, 2011, at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. It aired live on ABC at 8:00/7:00 PM Central. The show was hosted by Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood.
Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean & Brad Paisley led the nominations with 5 each. Aldean had never won a CMA award prior to 2011 CMA Awards, when he won his first two awards for album of the year and musical event of the year. Miranda Lambert was named female vocalist of the year, and her husband Blake Shelton took home male vocalist. The night's top prize, entertainer of the year, went to Taylor Swift, which was her only victory of the evening.[1] New Artist of the Year went to The Band Perry, who was also nominated for Vocal Group of the Year.
When Taylor Swift won entertainer of the year in 2011, she became only the second female artist to ever win the honor twice, after Barbara Mandrell won it in 1980 and 1981. Swift is currently one of six female artists to ever win the award.
